Leaving the Truth - Songs to Destroy Your Faith By
by tetrapod.sapien inas some of you may know, i am a recently self-deconverted jw.
the experience of deconversion was at times emotional.
i have compiled a list of songs i would listen to on those emotionally turbulent occasions.

If you were bullied at school for being a JW kid..
by mtbatoon in..would you thank the bullies now?.
i must admit that the social pressure was a large factor in my exiting.
though it was hell at the time i'd rather that than life as as dub now.

Not really, but I was bigger then most, so no one bothered me, during my high school years I kept it quiet and no one knew, then in Grade 12, STUPID ME, someone asked me out of the blue if I was a JW. And STUPID ME said yes, costed me all my friends, so not bullied, but centered out and ignored, I still remember the day like it was yesterday.

the numbers mean nothing, it's alot easier for a group of 6,000,000 to have an increase in %, then a group of 60,000,000.
For example, I'm starting a religion today, we have one member, by tomorrow we will have 2 members, WOW 100% increase, WOW, WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the less people, the easier to show an increase in % .
so the % number means f-ck all.

Another 607 / 587 BCE question, How do JW's fix the 20 years ??
by run dont walk inok, since all the evidence and people/scholars etc, all agree that jerusalem was destroyed in 587/586 bce and not 607 bce.
how do the jw's get the extra 20 years, i understand the 2520 years and going back from 1914. but alot of the proof goes by adding up the kings reigns, and it gets you to the 587/586 date, do jw's simply add on a few years for each king, or is their a mystery king that ruled for 20 years that only they know about.. hhhhhhmmmmmmm.
hope my question makes sense.

Is WTBS now encouraging witnesses to go into business?
by zagor injust wondering if youve noticed the same thing.
last few assemblies ive ever visited ive noticed frequently one phrase brother so and so, an elder, etc, and also running his own business ive heard this time and time again when theyd introduce someone to preset their experience and if im not wrong even once or twice when theyve introduced a new speaker.. .
ive also heard from others who have noticed the same lately though most of them are interpreting it along the lines well, it is just a good example of how it is possible to be a self-employed witness and not be part of this corrupt business world.

Maybe, but I think most True Witnesses can't get a job, I run a high level restaurant/bar/hotel , and its 24/7 365, if a Witness applies for a job, it's like ...
"Well, The Watchtower is more important then a job, so i can't work Sundays, or Saturday morning, and Thursday nights are out, definitely not Tuesday nights, oh and Monday night I have family study, and Wednesdays during the day I have my own personal study time, and Monday and Thursday mornings I peddle magazines, and Saturday afternnoon's I have a bible study who is learning, and I maybe starting another study on Wednesday nights, but otherwise I can work anytime."
Yep, those applications go in the G file (garbage can)

What do you wish you had prior to your exit?
by kwintestal inone of the reasons that i stayed a jw for as long as i did was because i didn't know where to start my research about the wt.
i was scared of the stigma that jw's gave internet sites, so i avoided them for months after my departure, only visiting upon the advice of relatives.
i was in my mid-twenties, and had grown up being told my whole life that i was in "the truth".. it was books that got me out, reading apocolypse delayed, coc, and gentile times made up my mind.

just more information, fortunately in today's world all the info is so easy to find,
I find it amazing, that 20 years after Crisis Of Conscience, it is even more relevant today then back then, because we can check it all out, and we know now Ray was right, as maybe back in the 80's, we still would of had doubts.
This will sound bizzare, but I left in 1990, in a strange way I wish I would of stayed til 1995, for the generation change, man the sh-t I would of caused.
